Under the sea

Not only a song from The Little Mermaid (which is pretty much shown on repeat in our house), but the site of the latest wedding the Hubs and I attended.  Our close friend Kevin's little sister got married at the Florida Aquarium this week.  Angie and Josh became husband and wife in front of a huge wall of water, filled with fish, turtles, sharks, and many other sea creatures.  After the ceremony, we were able to wander the Aquarium (which is always a good time) until the dessert reception, where we feasted on homemade cookies from both families (LOVE LOVE LOVE this tradition).  Here are just a few pics (I didn't take too many) from the special day.

My obsession/hatred is back....

I'm back at it. I'm back on the running bandwagon.  And really hating every minute of it.  While I'm excited that my weekly (more like monthly) mileage has drastically increased, I'm hating every step I take.  Not only is it wicked hot in Florida right now.  It's like 90 degrees at 8pm...yes...pm...not am.  Last night's run made me feel absolutely horrible.  It was so hot and muggy.  I couldn't breathe and I'm sure my face was a wonderful shade of fire engine red.  I felt great after it though.  I think those 3 miles were harder than any of the half marathons I've done.

Tonight's run turned into a walk, more or less.  I quickly learned that I can't run and text at the same time so I opted to play it safe and walk while having my conversations.  You might be asking, why wouldn't she just put off her conversations for the sake of a little exercise?  I say to you.....HELLO?!?!?!  I live for talking.  Texting is pretty much all I do and my primary form of communication.  Don't believe me?  Just ask the Hubs.  But really, it was awesome to talk to my good friends while still enjoying a brisk 3 mile walk. Exercise is exercise in my book.  I'm proud of myself for going out 2 nights in a row, in the heat  Let's see how long this lasts.....

Happy Father's Day!!!!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!  May your day be full of love, appreciation, and happiness.

I am blessed to have 2 amazing Dads in my life.  First, the Hubs.  He is a great Daddy to my kiddos and I couldn't imagine it any other way.  They absolutely adore him and vice versa.  And while I loathe his obsession with turning our kids into Gator fans, he's quick to play dress up and tea party with Em or play soccer with Noah.  All in all, the 3 of us have a winner!  Happy Father's Day Hubs!  Hope you enjoy sleeping in a little!!!
The kiddos and the Hubs
And then there's my Dad.  My Dad is by far the best Dad in the world.  I know everyone says that about their dad but I'm sorry, mine is the best!!!  Not only did he and my mom give up so much so my brothers and I could have the best in life, he's just a pretty awesome guy.  He's always been there for me and has never let me down.  I'm blessed to call him my Dad and even more blessed that my kids call him PaPa.  They adore him as much as I do.  I love you Daddy!!!
Dancing and singing while playing mini golf....why wouldn't you love this guy?!?

My Dad and Mom at graduation
Have a great Father's Day!!!  I'm done with my 5 day work week so I'll be back on here more often since the Hubs is back to calling me a Blog Slacker....

Who needs a movie? Let's go out!

Probably not my brightest idea.

The Hubs and I had a grown up night on Friday (well we actually had Date Night on Thursday and Friday but who's counting....me!!).  We met a group of our friends (the Hubs's coworkers) down at Ceviches for dinner and happy hour.  We had a great time filled with laughs and great company.  We were trying to kill time before our movie a few hours later when I got the bright idea to forget the movie and go out on the town.  We're not big going out people so this was a huge stretch but everyone in our group thought it was a great idea (note to all my friends....don't listen to any of my ideas after a few glasses of sangria!!!) So sadly, we did not see Bridesmaids but we had a great time hanging out with our friends.
Our faves

I kinda like this pic of us

My other hubby!!!

I can't believe I got all 4 of us in a self portrait...Although crazy eyes are in full force
Hope everyone has a great week!!!

Cross that one off the list

I survived my first field trip!  Granted it wasn't a hard one (just a short walk down the street to the local park) but it's done.  Noah's PreK class went to Taylor Park with their 5th grade buddies today and I was lucky enough to be a chaperone.  Emmy hitched a ride in her stroller and off we went.  The morning was filled with slides, turtles, popsicles, water balloon toss/fight, and lunch (after a HUGE mishap) from McDonalds.  All in all, it was a great day.  Here are just some of my favorite pics from today:
Noah and his 5th Grade Buddy

Walking to the park...of course Noah would be closest to the other lane

A turtle visited the playground

Em and Uncle Justin (with Noah's PreK teacher)

Friends playing together

Popsicle time....look how red his cheeks are!

She really thinks she's in PreK

Water balloon toss

My little brother works at the school as the afternoon PreK aide, he subs alot, and he coaches most of the sports teams.  Today he was the PE teacher/PreK aide.  All the kids LOVE Mr Justin. So when the water balloon toss was over, they were allowed to have a water balloon fight with the remaining balloons.  I have to figure out how to upload the video because it is awesome but here is a great action sequence for getting Mr Justin wet!
Justin was trying to get Emmy to throw him her balloon and Maddie was trying to pop her balloon on his head

She (and a few other kiddos) were successful!
Noah just loves his buddy.  He was really excited to give him his gift (a Target gift card).  I'm glad I had the opportunity to catch this hug.
Hugs for his Buddy!!!
I can't believe that the school year is over already.  I know this sounds cliche but it really does feel like yesterday we were walking him to school for the first time.  He's grown up so much and matured (if a 4 year old can do that) so much.  I am so thankful that the Hubs and I made the last minute decision to enroll him.  Now he's got friends his own age, knows his alphabet, can spell his name (and other words), among many other things.  I'm just thankful we have another year of PreK left before Kindergarten.  I'm not ready for that yet.  Tomorrow is the first Last Day of School we'll celebrate with him....tear....

Happy Last Day of School to everyone!!!

Really?!?!?! In the shower?!?

This might be a little TMI.......

That's exactly what I've been asking Emmy for 2 nights now.  My kids are addicted to the shower.  Noah loves to take showers and play the whole time.  Emmy's been terrified of the shower until this week.  She's running to our bathroom, trying to take off her clothes whenever she hears the shower turn on.  So what we've been doing is throwing both kiddos in the shower so they can get clean and play.  Well for 2 nights now, my dainty little daughter has dropped stinky presents while taking showers.

Who does that????

I guess my almost 2 year old girly girl.

Absolutely disgusting.....

So it didn't work

After 5 nights and only 20 hours of sleep total in those 5 nights, we decided to put the crib back together.  Emmy found it completely appropriate to only sleep in 4 hour periods and think that it's ok to be awake and ready to play from 12:45-3am.  Definitely not ok in my book.  So we converted the bed back to a crib.  Hopefully she'll be ok with the sudden change.  Oh well.....

After a really stressful week at work, I'm stoked to have the weekend off with no plans.  I can't wait to catch up on sleep, catch up on Days (yes, I watch a soap opera), and hang out with the Hubs and kiddos.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
