Curveballs

I have a hard time when things don't go the way I planned.  It's something I need to work on.  I know that there are curveballs thrown at us during our life, whether they be huge ones or small, insignificant ones. Either way, I don't like them.

With that being said, vacay recaps are postponed yet again because I am sick.  I don't know who I got it from or how I got it.  All I know is that I'm living on Zofran (thank you GlaxoSmithKline for discovering this amazing drug) and trying to manage fevers.  I absolutely hate being sick!

Hopefully it will be back to our regular programming tomorrow!!!!  Here's some things you can look forward to:

Germs, Germs all around

I have my latest victim of the horrible sickness that's going around like crazy.  Poor sweet Em is miserable.  She's had fevers, she's congested, coughing, sneezing, and has some weird eye thing going on (not pink eye though) and guess who's been the only person she's wanted?  Yep.  Me.  I'm constantly dodging sneezes and coughs.  She can't sleep unless she's propped up and the best way she sleeps is in between my legs, propped up on my hips.  It works for us but it really makes for a boring night for me.  I went to bed at 8:30 last night just so I could get her comfortable.  I mean I did end up on Pinterest and watching TV since I was not tired at that time but it still wasn't the way I planned my evening. Oh and I really haven't had a full night's sleep since Sunday.

But you know what? I'd do it all over again.  Every single time.  It's a funny thing that happens when you become a mom.  It doesn't matter how miserable you are, how sleep deprived you are, you'd do anything to make sure your sweet child is comfortable. You'd sacrifice anything to make sure your kids have what they need.  And it's a sacrifice you'll make time and time again, no matter how old your children get.  So here I am, missing work so I can take my lil sickie to the doctor (because I don't really trust anyone else to take them....the Hubs knows this is true), tired beyond belief, and ready to snuggle my germ infested the minute she needs me.

Now where's the bleach?

Moonlighting

Yep that's right!  I'm moonlighting today over at A Modern Day Wife's Journey!  Thanks to Lauren for asking me over!!!  I'm so excited about my first ever blog post. Which in turn makes me a little anxious.  Hello...we've met...of course I'm a little paranoid about this.  Hope you like it.

As for me, I'm home from work today thanks to the lovely plague that is still running rampant in my poor body.  I guess I was not one of the lucky ones who's antibiotics actually worked.  I'm going on 6 days of feeling horrible.  Geez...can't a girl catch a break? Plus I have a fairly busy social calendar this week.  I have to be better for dinner tomorrow and brunch on Sunday.

Go say hi to Lauren for me!!!

Sorry it's been so long but.....

Our flu shots did not work.  Yes, that's what I said.....we all have the flu despite the pain of this year's flu shot.  Noah started getting sick and the doctor said it was viral....aka wait it out with no medications.  I got sick and my doctor started a Z-Pack, which did not do anything.  Then Miss Em did what we call at work "broke." She had fevers up to 104.7, no cough, runny nose, wheezing, nothing.  We took her to Urgent Care hoping to find something.  She was cathed for a urine, which showed no UTI, and swabbed for flu at the last minute eventhough she had received the flu shot.  Well low and behold, she has Influenza A and thats probably what Noah and I have.  She got Tamiflu but fevers didn't get any better.  A few days later, she started with a wicked cough and runny nose and then PINK EYE.  How does this happen?  I brought her to the doctor yesterday and she not only has bacterial infections of BOTH her eyes (her left eye was the only one looking bad), she has ear infections in both ears.  I can't believe it.  She just can't catch a break.  So antibiotics and eye drops ordered for that.  Then this morning, I feel like I'm dying.  I listened to my lungs to see if I was still sounding good (I am) and listened to Em just for fun.  Guess what.....wheezing.  Great, just another thing to add to our list of problems.  So I have another call out to the MD to see what to do about this wheezing (and the other things that have popped up in the last 24 hours).

Hopefully we'll catch a break and get something figured out and, as a family, move toward being healthy again.

From my death bed,
~JRC~
